Walking by Faith: A Daily Priority of Every Believer

Posted on February 6, 2018 By Steve Gray

Your faith determines the trajectory of your life. What you believe in is what you will see manifest in your life.

It is by faith in Christ that you are successful. It is by faith that you can walk in obedience to God. It is by faith that you can live for God without growing weary. It is easy to put trust in outside sources – your friends, finances, job, and even yourself – but, ultimately, it is faith in Christ alone that allows you to live a life that is pleasing to Him.

“Without faith it is impossible to please God. Those that come to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” – Hebrews 11:6

This scripture is a humble reminder that faith is the prerequisite for pleasing God. We don’t have to be perfect, but we do have to confidently believe in who God says He is and boldly pursue a relationship with Him. Here are two key principles to remember as you walk by faith.

Actionable Faith is the Key to Results

If you don’t put your faith to action, how can you expect results?

God doesn’t just want us to have faith; He wants us to use it. God's people should be active participants in the Kingdom of God by using our faith to advance His will.

God doesn’t speak just to be heard, He speaks so that we can hear and do what He says. But we won’t do His Word if we don’t even believe it is true. So we must stir our faith by believing and doing what God says. As we do what He says, our faith will grow stronger.

Righteousness comes through faith

Personal perfection doesn’t please God, faith does.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says that Christ came so we could become the righteousness of God in Christ. But if we are not in Christ through faith, then we cannot be righteous.

A lot of people try to work for righteousness. They do everything they can to dot their I’s and cross their T’s. But it never seems like enough. That’s because righteousness is a gift from God that is received by faith. We cannot work for it or obtain it through our actions.

Ultimately, righteousness comes from a place of deeply rooted faith. Because you believe that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, your character, attitude, and lifestyle begin to align with the truth of who God is and who you are in Him; because you believe that you are a child of God, your spiritual DNA begins to shift, and you inevitably start to become more like your Father.

Walk by Faith Today

Faith should be the foundation of your relationship with Christ. No matter where you’re at in your walk with God, start using your faith to change the things that you can. You may not be able to move mountains with your faith yet, but start small. The more you exercise your faith, the more it will grow. Remember: God honors those who believe His word and put it to action. So let’s continue this faith walk together today.
