Are we prepared for a time of transition?

Posted on January 9, 2018 By Steve Gray

Sometimes it seems as if nothing in the world is changing. In fact, at times, it appears that our world is getting worse.

But amid what seems to be a downfall, God is preparing the world for a time of transition.

The question is… Are God’s people ready?

Getting (and staying) prepared

It’s easy to get complacent and lose a desire grow in God. But it’s when you feel you’ve reached a peak that God is ready to take you even higher! He wants to show you new things, speak new things, and take you new places, but we must be hungry to get there.

We need to prepare our hearts, minds and spirits for what’s to come. Here are some things to pray about to get back into alignment with God’s will.

1.) A boldness to stand for God

There are plenty of ideologies and beliefs in the world, but not all of them are true. In a world where everyone likes to be right, we must stand on what God says is right with boldness and authority.

2.) A hunger for God’s presence and Truth

Ultimately, the only way we can truly get more of God is if we want more of Him. If your hunger has died down, now is the time to ask God to make you hungry for what He is doing and speaking. Remember: Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled (Matthew 5:6).

3.) Perseverance to continue serving God even when life gets tough

When life gets tough, a lot of Christians tap out. But I decree that is not us. In the midst of life’s difficulties, we are the ones who remain steadfast in the promises and presence of God. We will not doubt. We will not back down. And we will not turn the other way. We will walk in the strength of God and persevere.

4.) Ears to hear and a heart to receive

God is speaking. The question is can we hear Him? Have we allowed the cares of life to be louder than the voice of God? Has our heart become so cluttered with junk that there is no room left for the Holy Spirit? It’s time to allow God to renew our minds and cleanse our hearts so that we can hear, receive, and obey His instruction.

5.) A stirring of intercession

Intercession is the gateway God uses to release His plan on the Earth. All Christians in every season are called by God to pray (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). But let’s be honest, many of us don’t. Now is the time to awaken your prayer life. We must be interceding for our families, our churches, our cities, our government, our leaders, our country, and anything else the Lord places on our heart. We must be proactive and not reactive in our prayers.

It’s time to go deeper in God

I am preparing myself, my family and my church to go deeper in God. I hope you are too. In this time of transition, let’s commit to becoming more holy, more whole, and more obedient and receptive to the voice of God. Let’s be the vessel that God uses to advance His plan on the Earth. And let’s not wait until next week or next year to start. Let’s start now!
