Real God things and real God events cause battles. This surprises some who have been going to church with what they thought were "good Christians." Then when God starts moving we find ourselves in battle mode, not against the devil but against "good Christians" that are not so good after all. Anyone who opposes God's forward motion is not a good person.
I am trying to change everything in religion. I want to see revival come to the local church. Crusade type meetings have their place, but unless something happens in the local church at the alter where folks were saved, baptized, married and dedicated their children, the church will never be able to change the world.
I want to see television used as a positive tool to bring the presence of God into the everyday lives of everyday people. Presently, Christian TV is watched only by a fraction, a speck of our population and has as far as I can tell, zero impact on our nation or maybe even a negative impact.
I want to change people's first impression of religion. Most, because of the type of preaching so prevalent today, think of personal morality when they think of God rather than a personal presence. If we can get people to experience the real tangible presence of God, conviction of sin will follow all on its own. I believe the bible shows that this is how the early church did it.
Christianity in America must go through some necessary changes. The people who are willing to walk forward with God will find themselves battling the same religious spirits that Jesus and his followers battled.
I have been fighting for something my entire life. I guess that's why I am more comfortable on the battlefield than I am down at the coffee shop with a bunch of compromising preachers discussing how we must all agree to disagree. Nope, not for me.
Talk soon,
P. Steve
