(Kansas City, MO) March 29, 2008 - Steve Gray, founder and senior pastor of World Revival Church, author, and TV personality, recently interviewed on Holder Tonight Newstalk Radio, 1010CFRB Toronto and CJAD in Montreal, Canada. With a listening audience of 4 million, Gray fielded questions on U.S. and global politics, the separation of church and state, and modern morality.
Host Peter Holder brought opposing sides together in this interview with the addition of Dr. Jeff Schweitzer, scientist, former Chief Environmental Officer at the State Department's Agency for International Development, and self-proclaimed atheist who believes that "religion is fundamentally flawed."
Gray and Schweitzer both used scripture to defend their stance in U.S. politics and the influence of religion in American society - Schweitzer to promote an absolute "divorce from religion" for the betterment of our society, and Gray to agree that "some of the criticism towards religion is deserved," but that the solution is transformation of the religious system, not the abolishment of it.
Speaking further on church and state, Gray added, "Today the church is so lame it can't get God to do anything. So it has no choice but to turn to politics."
