A great evening with Daystar - moving forward with revival!

Well, we did it! The live simulcast with Daystar was quite a night and, really, an honor for Kathy and I and our World Revival Church congregation.
 
I want to thank everyone who participated in the special sharathon broadcast. We had a good flow between Kansas City and the Texas offices of Daystar, and I could sense the corporate power of God on us all, helping make the night a success.

Everything’s a blur of activity here at World Revival Church as we gear up for the live simulcast with Daystar tonight. This is a complicated broadcast from a technical perspective and both Daystar’s team in Texas and our media department in Kansas City are working overtime to make sure everything flows smoothly!

Another night of global revival last Friday night at World Revival Church, airing live to over 200 nations through the “umph” of Daystar’s satellites, plus our live streaming from Kansas City that goes out to the world. How can I describe the feeling of coming from being a small-town pastor (532 people) to a position of speaking to millions? It’s mind-boggling at the very least, and extremely humbling at the most.

Kathy and I just got back from some meetings in Boise, Idaho. It was good to see the hunger for revival in these meetings, sparked by what’s been happening at World Revival Church in Kansas City. Pastors Chuck and Jennifer Seip of Higher Ground Worship Center (in Caldwell, just outside of Boise) really put forth anointed efforts at gathering the area pastors and we felt a great unity during the meetings.

I was in college during the Vietnam War.  The draft came up, and I barely squeaked by having my number called.  My birthdate was the next one on the list in my county, but fortunately they filled their quota with young soldiers born just the day before I was. I knew some guys who didn’t want to take a chance, so they pretended to be pacifists and snuck over the border to Canada.

Over the last 13 years, I have watched as many “revivals” come and go. Most are simply little flash fires that spring up, but have nothing to sustain them. Please, don’t be so quick to label good feelings, intense services, or manifestations of the Holy Spirit as “revival.”

What is stopping revival? Wrong Definitions

Occasionally, a pastor, or just a desperate church person will ask me, “What’s stopping revival in my church?” I think it can have a lot to do with an inaccurate definition of revival.

There are a lot of religious definitions out there that have nothing to do with Biblical revival.

For instance, revival is NOT a twice yearly scheduled event with an out of town speaker brought in to pump up the people. When he leaves town, generally the excitement goes with him and it is back to the religious status quo until his next visit.

Over 7,800 respond to Daystar revival program

This past Friday night, World Revival Church and Daystar broke a record for responses during our live airing. Over 7,800 viewers responded to the preaching of the Word and to the fervent pleas of our WRC youth crying out for life and rescue for the teens and young adults already disillusioned by dead religion.

5 Things That Stop Revival

God’s biblical patterns will produce a genuine revival move when followed. During the Burn Conference this weekend, I shared about what hinders people from following these patterns.
